We’ve worked with the City of St. John’s to provide media relations training for their councillors and senior executive team. Our training has helped this group of municipal leaders better prepare, respond, deliver, and react to media inquiries further supporting their community outreach and engagement.

Nine Island is the agency of record and co-producer of the annual telethon for the Janeway Children's Hospital Foundation. These videos showcase the storytelling and creative elements that help viewers connect to the children who receive care at the hospital and motivate them to donate to this great cause. Our visual storytelling skillset supported the Foundation in achieving record breaking donations throughout the course of our time as agency of record.

Nine Island provided training for the university’s marketing and communications team to shoot and edit their own video. This training allowed staff to achieve their goal of taking its target publication, The Gazette, completely online. The publication is now more dynamic, interactive, and personable through their visual storytelling capabilites.

Capturing the corporate stories that motivate employees and connect them to the business is important. We work with this national insurance company to write a monthly newsletter focusing on specific lines of business. The newsletter keeps employees up-to-date on what's happening and provide timely updates on strategies as well as business results.

NL Pharmacy Board: We're working with the provincial regulatory body to develop communications strategies that support their mandate, member engagement, and public awareness initiatives.

Nine Island Communications worked with Let’s Talk Science to develop a video to support volunteer training. Volunteers across the country are supported with this video by learning classroom management skills.

Nine Island Communications provided the video shooting and editing training to the university’s marketing and communications staff. Through this training, the staff were able to write, shoot, and edit their own visual stories allowing the university to take The Gazette to an online publication.

Nine Island Communications supported BabyFriendly-NL in the development of videos to help generate awareness around breastfeeding children in hospital and in the first few weeks and months post delivery. We also supported the organization in the development of a social media campaign where memes were used to help promote and raise awareness. The memes were then developed into an interoffice video loop to be used at various health centre locations and by lactation consultants when working in the field.

The Nine Island crew shot footage for an episode of Daily Planet. The episode featured ice breaker technology and testing happening in St. John’s, NL.

Nine Island produced the new television series Extrapreneurs - a show about advancing women in business. The five-episode series broadcast online and on RogersTV featured topics on the issues and opportunities facing women in business and practical ‘how to’ advice.
